Message	at any time prior? Because I'm having difficulty imagining any other reason why an Optima would vent excessively like that. Suitability for relocation (eg. trunk) and reorientation (you could mount up, down, sideways, etc.) are supposed to be one of the advantages of the so-called sealed, low-maintanence batteries like the Optima. Miata guys tend to love 'em (Optimas), because they have a truck-mounted battery location from the factory (or at least some models... 1st gen I think. better weight distribution, etc.).
